Chapter & Crumb is intended to be a useful, respectful, and lawful place to create, adapt, and share cookbook content. These guidelines help protect users, creators, and the platform from abuse, deception, and legal risk.

They apply to public cookbooks, recipes, images, notes, comments, profiles, and other activity that uses Chapter & Crumb’s sharing or publishing features.

Users may share original recipes, personal adaptations, commentary, cookbook organization, and images they created or are authorized to use. Respectful collaboration, attribution where appropriate, and clearly labeled personal edits are encouraged.

Educational, editorial, and community discussion around cooking is welcome so long as it is accurate to the best of the user’s knowledge, not misleading, and consistent with these guidelines and applicable law.

Users may not post unlawful, infringing, harassing, hateful, threatening, exploitative, deceptive, fraudulent, spammy, or privacy-violating content. This includes impersonation, doxxing, malware, scams, and content that abuses other users or the service.

Recipe-specific prohibited content includes copied paywalled cookbook scans, unauthorized food photography, plagiarized blog intros, false nutrition or allergen claims, dangerous food-safety instructions, and content presented in a way that intentionally misleads users about origin, authorship, or safety.

Public recipes and cookbooks should be labeled accurately, use authorized text and images, and avoid deceptive or unsafe claims. Users are responsible for making sure public content reflects what it actually is, who made it, and what risks or limitations may apply.

Private or draft content is not exempt from review. Chapter & Crumb may review or act on non-public content when required to investigate reports, enforce policies, protect safety, or comply with legal obligations.

Chapter & Crumb may warn users, remove content, reduce visibility, limit sharing features, suspend accounts, terminate accounts, or take other reasonable action when these guidelines or applicable law are violated.

Enforcement decisions may consider severity, repetition, intent, credibility of reports, risk to users or third parties, and whether the user has attempted to evade prior moderation or account restrictions.

Copyright complaints should follow the Copyright & DMCA Policy. Other reports, including harassment, impersonation, dangerous content, or privacy concerns, may be submitted through the in-app reporting flow for public content or sent to [email protected].

Submitting a report does not guarantee removal, but Chapter & Crumb may review relevant account, content, upload, and system information as needed to investigate and respond. False, abusive, or bad-faith reporting may itself violate these guidelines.
